La Presqu'ile de Quiberon is an island of rocky and high cliffs plunging into the sea and linked to the coast by a 5 mile strip of sand on witch was build the main road to link the peninsula to the continent.
On this virgin protected peninsula, 2 small villages: St Pierre Quiberon and Quiberon. The presqu'ile de Quiberon is famous for the 'wild coast' where the high cliff drop into the ocean. Unbelievable site also famous for surfing with a magnificent sunset
To visit and see:
- The Penthievre castle: rebuilt in the 19th century, it is today an active army based for military elite. This castle was guarding the entrance of the peninsula. You will also find 2 pretty white sand beaches at the foot of the huge fort.
- St Pierre Quiberon is a small sea side resort with 2 pretty white sand beaches and an important marina.
- Quiberon and its busy little fishing harbor 'port Maria' where you can take the ferry to Belle Isle. You will be able to assist to the arrival of the Sardines boat around 5 PM bringing their fishing of the day to the local can factory.

The 'wild coast' with the beg-er-goalanec Pointe (headland) featuring abysses, high cliff, small sandy beaches, caves, etc. The sound of the ocean is unique and the all area is very romantic⦠do not miss the sunset there⦠this zone is protected by the French government as a regional ecological natural park. more than one thousand species of birds nest on this Wild coast each year
